Service tray 27x13cm & 31x16cm

This pair of trays, one 27x13cm and the other 31x16cm, plays on sizes to vary presentations. Charcuterie, cheese, sushi or petits fours: their elongated shape lines up easily at the centre of the table.
Made from earthenware fired at 1150°C, each piece receives a carefully applied surface decoration, in a deep storm grey that lightens towards the centre and thickens at the edges. The shade appears veiled, crossed by a diffuse halo that softens the contrast and shifts the color with the light, between mineral grey and almost blue.
EDGE takes the opposite approach to organic shapes: regular lines, well-judged proportions, and that darker line encircling each piece like a stroke drawn by hand. It comes in two temperaments: Lagoon, a clear, luminous turquoise that evokes shallow water over a mineral bed, and Storm, a veiled, graver storm grey for tables you like understated. Two characters, one design.
